True North has reaped widespread critical praise in Germany following its theatrical release there on May 22nd.
Another resounding success for True North at a Spanish film festival, this time
winning the double accolades of Best Film and Best Director at the
Ourense Independent Film Festival in Galicia.
BIFA, the British Independent Film Academy, has nominated Steve
Hudson for the Douglas Hickox Award for the Best Debut Director 2007
for True North
True North has opened in Britain and Ireland to widespread critical acclaim
True North has been awarded the Grand Prize of the Kingdom of Navarra
in the official competition for the Best Feature Film at the Pamplona
Film Festival in Spain.
True North has been selected for the Variety Critics Choice section at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, in the Czech Republic.
True North has won the the prize for the Best Feature at the Celtic
Film and Television Festival, held this year on the Isle of Skye, in
Scotland. The Bronze Torc Award was accepted by actor Gary Lewis, who
plays the skipper.
True North has won three prizes in competition at the Cherbourg Festival of
British and Irish Films: Best Film; the Young People's Jury Award for
Best Film; and Best Actress for Angel Li in her first-ever cinema role.

True North is nominated for BAFTA Scotland Award for Best Film, Best Director (Steve Hudson), Best Screenplay (Steve Hudson) and Best Actor (Martin Compston).
